The NOS7001 is a highly accurate digital temperature sensor designed to meet the requirements of ASTM E1112 and ISO 80601 for electronic patient thermometers. It provides a 16-bit temperature reading with a resolution of 0.0078 °C and an accuracy of up to ±0.1 °C over a temperature range of -20 °C to 50 °C without calibration.
The Integrated EEPROM is included for device programming, with an additional 48 bits of memory available for general use. The NOS7001 has low power consumption, operating from 1.7 V to 5.5 V and consuming typically 3.5 μA, minimizing self-heating effects on measurement accuracy.
In non-medical applications, the NOS7001 can be used as a single-chip digital alternative to a Platinum RTD, offering accuracy comparable to a Class AA RTD while using significantly less power
